Wednesday Evening Yoga at St Albans High School, Ipswich

Yoga at St Albans High School, Digby Road, Ipswich IP4 3NJ
Wednesday evenings   7.45- 9.05pm

DATES: Weekly No class June 19th 2019

Classes are in A9 Hall in the Art and Humanities Block to left of main entrance to school.  Parking available in front of block (Visitors’ Parking). Enter black/mesh gates, follow sign into Art and Humanities Block, then follow any signs to DRAMA. Room is at bottom of corridor on right. (Floor of room is quite hard, so a blanket is useful to cushion mat  for supine postures.)

Spare mats, blocks, belts and eye pillows available to borrow.

Classes include yoga exercises/postures (asana), breathing practices (pranayama) and relaxation. This is not a one-size fits all sort of class. Classes are varied and never repetitive so you can develop your yoga at your own pace and constantly discover new practices and approaces with suggestions for modifications where needed.

What to bring/wear:

Please wear comfortable clothes for stretching in yoga asanas and bring a non slip mat and a blanket for the final relaxation. Yoga is traditionally done barefoot.

  • Improve overall well being

Comments about Wednesday evening Yoga and other classes:

“My weekly yoga with Caroline is a little bit of “me time”.  It gives me the chance to switch off for a short while.  I leave the class feeling refreshed, calmer and more relaxed than when I arrived – and always sleep very well that night. The classes are suitable for all levels, as Caroline talks you through each pose, with suggestions for how to adapt each one to make them easier or more challenging.  I would strongly recommend that you give it a try, regardless of whether or not you have practiced yoga previously.” (Nicky, Feb 2016)

“I really enjoy my yoga practice as time set aside to focus on myself and some much needed space in a modern hectic life.  It enables me to calm my mind and body. I concentrate as completely as I can on the poses and this gives me the time to focus on my mental well being and become more aware of areas of my body where I need to release tension

I enjoy and feel the benefits of the stretches, but also like that yoga keeps the internal systems of the body healthy too. Caroline’s classes allow me to challenge myself if I choose or to enjoy a more relaxed practice. Either way, after class, I feel revitalised, yet also ready for rest and sleep.” (Kristina, December 2016)

“Benefits I’ve noticed include: better sleep; my back has improved hugely; better posture and mindfulness of how I am standing and  lifting.” (Tracey)

“I just want to tell you how much I enjoy your Yoga sessions; it has made a real difference in terms of my general well being and flexibility. I hope to continue to improve and very much appreciate your expert guidance.”(Claire R)
